Dear Friends,

It is my honor to be writing you requesting your support for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s, as I have been nominated for Man of the Year. Many of my friends and family have joined my campaign with a goal to deliver hope to many families and a request fo

r help from you!

Every three minutes someone in the United States is diagnosed with Blood Cancer. More than one-third of blood cancer patients do not survive five years after their diagnosis. This cause has changed many lives and has become part of a movement to cure ALL cancers, not just blood cancer. Much of LLS supported research has not only helped blood cancer patients but are also now helping to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. Since 2017, there have been 51 drugs approved by the FDA and 46 of those drugs came through LLS funded research.

In the last year, I personally have had 3 people in my family diagnosed with Cancer. My aunt, Joni Munro Basgall, my sister-in-law Kellie Munro, and Kaytlan Schneider, who I consider my sister. All of these strong, amazing women in my life have undergone chemotherapy or are still in treatment. Joni has two daughters and Kellie has three. Those are five girls who are in the process of what it means to be a strong woman. They are being shown the true definition of “girl power” and how to kick cancer’s butt! They are the prime example that although, sometimes life throws you lemons and you must throw them back! Their “never give up” attitude is contagious!

I have accepted this nomination with pride and humility in order to show these women how much they mean to me; this is my way to support them from the sidelines and be their cheering squad! They do not have to do this alone, and through this program we can help them all and so many more! Without organizations like the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, continued research for a cure would not be possible. That is why I need your help today! This letter is to raise awareness for this great organization and the hope that they will bring many families, friends and communities together to support each person affected by this horrible disease. We all must work together to raise the funds needed to aid in the research that continues to come closer and closer to finding a cure, each and every day.

As a candidate we are given a time frame from February 27, 2020 through May 8, 2020 to raise funds, which go directly towards cancer research and building awareness. My goal is to raise $100,000, however if we raise $50,000 by May 8, 2020, I will have the opportunity to name an LLS-funded research grant in honor of Joni, Kellie, and Kaytlan. Let’s show them that we will fight this together and not give up. Let’s show them that know that someday, their daughters will only know Cancer as a thing of the past and not something that they have to be afraid of.

There are two ways for you to support my efforts, and donate to this worthy cause:
